Scarecrows

Today was another great day with the substitute teacher!  Sorry there are no pictures from today!  I will try to make up for it on tomorrow's post!

Today we read the story There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves! and enjoyed listening for the rhyming words.  In the story, she swallowed some really silly things, such as a shirt, pole, pants, and hay.  You will never guess what popped out of her mouth when she sneezed - a scarecrow!  We learned why people use scarecrows.  Scarecrow also starts with the letter s!

We also continued to visit centers.  For information about the centers from this week, you can visit Monday or Tuesday's post.

Some time was also spent playing in the classroom to help develop those important social skills.

The children also made a scarecrow color booklet today while working on color identification.  When they bring their booklet home, ask them to help "read" it to you!

Remember that tomorrow is costume day!  The children are very excited about it!  Please make sure to keep it simple.  If your child won't want to wear the costume all day, make sure to have your child wearing clothing underneath so he/she can easily take off the costume with minimal disruption to the rest of our day!

I can't wait to see everyone's costumes tomorrow! :)
