Chick or Duckling?

Today was an exciting day!  We had a special visitor that came to our classroom to help us learn about chicks!  She had some chicks that she let us hold and touch.  It was neat to learn about the differences between a chick and a duckling!  Before she arrived, we brainstormed a list of questions to ask her.

When she arrived, we learned that there are different types of chickens.  She showed us pictures of what the chicks will look like when they are bigger.  Then we got to hold them.  We practiced using gentle touches and quiet voices so we would not scare the chicks too much!

We visited centers again - playing duck rhyming memory (or rhyming Go Fish), painting ducks with feathers, or making a duck booklet.

Then we played.  Sorry there are not many playtime pictures from today.

We made some duck stick puppets today and used the puppets to help with the story One Duck Stuck.  The children are such good helpers!

We also started to share our yellow mystery bags, but did not have time to finish them today.  Hopefully the substitute teacher will have time to fit in the remaining mystery bags tomorrow.  Otherwise we will finish them after spring break.

There will be no blog post tomorrow night.  The children will be attending Super Stars with the substitute teacher tomorrow and doing some rabbit and egg activities.
