Firefighter Visit!

Today was an eventful and exciting day in 4K!  The firefighters came to visit!  We got to see them dressed in all of their firefighter gear and then watched them take it off so we could see the person underneath all of that clothing!  We learned that even if they look scary in their clothing, we shouldn't hide because they are there to keep us safe!

They even let us try on some of the clothing if we wanted to!  It was heavy and warm!

We even got to show the firefighters that we know how to stop, drop, and roll if we should catch on fire!

Then we got the chance to go outside to see the fire trucks!  The firefighters let us try to spray water from the hose!  It was a lot of fun!

We got to take a close look at the fire truck and even climbed aboard!

They even turned on the sirens for us and we got to hear the horn!

It was so much fun!  A special thanks goes to the fire department for their visit!

They even gave us special hats to wear!

We made a special firefighter ladder snack today!  First we had to frost a graham cracker.  Then we placed pretzels on top to create a ladder.  It was delicious!

After learning the song "The Wheels on the Fire Truck," we made our own fire trucks complete with wheels, a siren, a ladder, and hose!

We also read a rhyming story, sorted objects by whether or not they are safe to play with, and sang some fire safety songs while wearing our firefighter hats!

Whew!  What a busy day!

Next week we will spend some time learning about pumpkins!

Have a great weekend! :)
