Happy Tuesday! Today the children were so excited about practicing some Christmas songs for the holiday program that they requested our daily message be about that! We searched for the letter n in our message today and spent some time talking about the difference between h and n because it was confusing for some children.
We read a story about a street where all the houses looked exactly alike until one day a seagull dropped a bucket of paint on one house, creating a huge orange splat! The neighbors were upset and requested that it be painted. The house owner painted it, but not like the neighbors wanted! It had elephants, lions, and stripes, and all sorts of designs. They were upset! One by one, they tried to convince the house owner to fix his house so it looked like all the other houses on the street. Each time they left, they were convinced to make their own homes unique! By the end of the story, all of the houses on the street were unique! We talked about how it is okay to be different and we do not need to do the same as everyone else all the time!
Number starts with the letter Nn. We spent some time sorting letters and numbers on our pocket chart. This was a little bit tricky!
Then we visited one of the centers that we did not visit yesterday. Check yesterday's blog post for a description of each center!
We had a great time playing in the classroom, as you can see!
We shared our mystery bags today! There were a lot of great letter Nn items, such as nests, noodles, numbers, a net, a nutcracker, and so much more!
In the afternoon, we began sharing the turkey in disguise projects that came in early! You will have to stop and look at them on display when you visit during conferences! There is still time to get the turkeys in! They are not due until Thursday!
Remember that tomorrow is Sports Day! Each child is welcome to wear his/her favorite sports apparel!
We will also have a visit from Altrusa in the afternoon session tomorrow since she was not able to come on her scheduled day in October! The book that will come home in your child's folder is from Altrusa. Your child may keep the book at home!
