Reindeer

We started off our day by continuing to work on some secret projects!  It is our hope to send them home tomorrow.

Our story today was all about Santa and his poor reindeer!  The reindeer got sick and Santa had to try to find a replacement to pull his sleigh!  He tried all different ideas, such as a reindeer blimp and holding auditions for other animals, but none of his ideas worked!  Ask your child how Santa got the reindeer better in time to pull the sleigh!

We played a fun number guessing game!  Check your child's folder for a smaller version that you can also play together at home!  The children had so much fun with this game!

We made a rhyming reindeer color booklet.  Check your child's folder for some activities you can do together at home to go along with the booklet!

During playtime, most children chose to play the number game some more!  It is great to see them enjoying those "academic" games and choosing them at playtime on their own!

After snack, we did a directed drawing activity together.  This activity was a lot of fun, but also worked on developing listening skills, spatial skills, and fine motor skills.  We drew a reindeer together.  Then we traced our pencil lines with black marker and colored in the reindeer.  Many children also chose to add in details, such as snowflakes, trees, and the sun.  They all turned out so unique!  The children are excited to learn how to draw Santa tomorrow!

Have a great evening! :)
