Gingerbread Girl

Today we read the story of the Gingerbread Girl!  It was a little bit different from our other gingerbread stories.  Ask your child about the ending of the story!

Then we rolled out our dough and made our own gingerbread cookies to put in the oven.  The school smelled wonderful today as our gingerbread was baking!  We could even choose different types of gingerbread figures to cut out.  There were gingerbread boys, girls, and even babies!  It was hard work, but a lot of fun!  We can't wait to eat our gingerbread cookies tomorrow!

We also painted candy cane Cc's for our alphabet books!  It is fun making patterns!

In small groups we practiced using teamwork to put together a gingerbread floor puzzle!  It was wonderful hearing the children say, "Please pass me the blue piece" or "Your piece goes here."

We also played both in our own classroom and Ms. Mader's classroom.

In the afternoon, we had a special Altrusa visitor come and read us a silly story about Froggy.  The book in your child's folder can be kept at home!

After snack, we practiced our holiday songs and then went outside to play!  Tomorrow we will get to decorate and eat our gingerbread cookies!  Yum!

Have a great evening! :)
