Pete the Cat Christmas!

When we arrived in our classroom today, we discovered that our elf met a special friend - Pete the Cat!  They were hugging each other and it looked like they had a great time playing in our classroom last night!

There was a new Pete the Cat book for us to read too!  In the story, Santa is sick so he asks Pete the Cat to help deliver all the presents.  Pete the Cat agrees to try.  The message of the story is that even if you are small, you should still always try to do your best!

We made our own Pete the Cats with Santa hats!  This project helped us review our shapes.

We also sequenced rectangles from biggest to smallest to create a tree!

Of course we also played.

After snack, we watched a recording of our holiday performance.  It was neat seeing ourselves singing on the TV!  A special "thank you" goes to Clare's dad for recording our performance for us! :)

Then we did another directed drawing activity together.  We learned how to draw Santa!  This drawing activity really helped us to work on drawing our shapes!  Today we only used pencil and did not take the time to trace over the pencil or color.

Then it was time to go outside and play!

If there should be a snow day tomorrow, I wish everyone a wonderful holiday and look forward to seeing everyone again in the New Year!

If there happens to be a 2 hour delay, there will be no morning 4K.  However, there will still be an afternoon session of 4K unless you would hear otherwise.

Enjoy the evening! :)
