We read some more versions of the Gingerbread Man - these ones were about gingerbread pirates and a gingerbread cowboy!
Then we chose our favorite gingerbread story from this week. In both sessions, the clear winner was The Gingerbread Girl with The Gingerbread Cowboy in second place!
After stories, we were feeling a little hungry so we decided to visit Ms. Mader's classroom to get our cookies from the oven. Ms. Mader's friends forgot to keep an eye on the cookies and when we opened the oven, they were already gone! They left us a note so we had to go off in search of those tricky gingerbread cookies!
We used our tiptoe feet so the gingerbread would not hear us coming and run away again! Our first stop was in Kindergarten! The gingerbread cookies left us a note there too!
We hunted in the cafeteria and the office! Those gingerbread cookies were too fast for us!
We visited a lot of classrooms! In some classrooms, the gingerbread cookies made a HUGE mess! We also found gingerbread footprints to follow in some places!
We finally did find the gingerbread cookies! They were busy building a house in the sensory table! They left us a note begging us not to eat them. The children decided to eat them anyway!
We frosted our gingerbread men and then decorated them with all different toppings - sprinkles, marshmallows, chocolate chips, peppermint, m&m's, licorice, and so much more!
Then we ate them all up! Yum! :)
Mrs. Marchant invited the afternoon class to watch a short 5 minute movie of the gingerbread man on her SMART Board. It was fun to watch with her students! Thank you, Mrs. Marchant!
To end the day, we practiced our holiday songs!
Remember to send in items for the holiday program on Monday! We need to ensure there will be enough for everybody so there is time for the teachers to run to the stores Monday night to pick up any last minute plates, napkins, cups, juice, or treats!
Have a fantastic weekend! :)
