Counting, Counting, Counting!

When we arrived at school today, we discovered that our elf visitor was busy making messes in our classroom!  The woolly, white w was on the floor, blocks were scattered all over, and we discovered the elf surrounded by our wish lists for Santa!  The elf left a note stating that Santa looked at everyone's wish list last night when he came for our holiday program so we could take our wish lists home to share with our families.  The children were excited that Santa showed up in the cafeteria after the holiday program last night!

We did a lot of counting today at school!  Miss McCabe shared a special book to go along with the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas."  We learned a lot of new vocabulary words, such as what a partridge is.  The book was special because each of the items were hidden and we had to hunt for the items on each page.  For example, we had to look for and count 7 swans swimming, 5 golden rings, 2 turtle doves, and so much more!  It was fun looking for and counting each of the items!

One child in the afternoon even made a counting book at home so he came up and read it to his friends!

Then we made our own holiday shape counting books to take home!

During playtime, we continued to work on developing our social skills.

After snack, we shared our snowman projects.  There were a lot of snowman brothers and sisters although some children made snow cats, snow dinos, snow reindeer, snow dads, and snow moms.

Then we played outside!  Have a fantastic evening! :)
