Today was a busy, busy day! We continued to spend some time learning about taking good care of our teeth and read a story about a visit to the dentist.
We had a visit from Midwest Dental. Some volunteers got to dress-up like a dentist, a dental patient, and even wear teeth costumes! The teeth ate some food and it got stuck between them. The dental patient tried brushing the teeth, but we learned that just brushing does not get rid of all the food. The dentist used a huge jump rope and pretended it was floss. We got to see how flossing helps get rid of everything that gets stuck between the teeth! They also showed us how to make circles while brushing and that we should brush the fronts, backs, and tops of our teeth. We learned a lot! Thank you to our special visitors!
After a delicious snack, we played.
We had a visit from Altrusa too! They read us the story Yummiest Love and we each got a copy of the book to take home with us too!
Some time was spent reviewing the letter Qq to go along with the nursery rhyme "The Queen of Hearts" that we have been learning. We made Queen Qq's for our alphabet books.
Remember to wear red tomorrow! Also book orders are due tomorrow. At this time, I have not received any! Remember that we get free books for our classroom with each order and it is a great way to build up both your collection at home, as well as our collection at school!
I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in baking heart sugar cookies to send into school on Thursday, February 14th for our Valentine's Day party? I thought the children would enjoy frosting and decorating them before eating! Please let me know if you are interested!
Have a great evening!
