Wind

Today we spent some time discussing wind.  The children have been doing some experimenting with it at centers this week.  We talked about how wind is needed to fly kites.  Then we read some stories.  One was about a windy day.  In the story, the wind blows all sorts of items until it finally drops them back down and blows off to sea to help a sailboat.

The second story was about a kite. The animals wanted to fly the kite and tried all sorts of things to get it to fly, such as toss it in the air, run with the string, and pull it with a truck.  Nothing worked until the wind came along.  Then the wind blew the kite with frog stuck on the string.  Super Duck had to come to the rescue to save frog from being blown away by the wind!  It was a silly rhyming story!

We visited centers again.  The children made spilt milk art, blew objects across a table, or played a weather beginning sounds game.

We also spent some time working on social skills while playing.

Altrusa came to visit today for the last time.  They read us the story The Bravest Fish.

We also had a lot of wiggles to get out so we spent a lot of time doing some dancing.  It was fun revisiting some of the songs we had learned earlier in the school year!

Tomorrow is Eagle's Nest!  We will also do book check-out tomorrow.  Remember that the zoo chaperone sign-up sheets are due back tomorrow!

Have a great evening! :)
