Happy Monday! It was great to see everyone back at school with big smiles today! We had a busy day! Debbie Clement came. She shared some of her stories and songs with us! We also learned some sign language to go with the songs! Debbie had us doing all sorts of silly things, like making funny faces, standing on one foot, and jumping. It was a lot of fun!
We sang the alphabet song and worked on identifying the first letter in our names. This week everyone will get a chance to use the watercolor paints! Everyone has been asking when we could paint! It was exciting because as we painted our white paper, the letters in our names magically began to appear! Those who did not paint today, will get a chance to throughout the rest of the week!
Today we also used our fine motor skills to color a book character to use to decorate our book check-out envelopes.
We read a silly story called Chicken Chickens Go to School. The story helped us to discuss how we felt the first day of school and ways to be a good friend at school.
Some time was spent on comparing the oval and circle shapes. We learned that an oval is a little longer and not as round as a circle. Everyone got a chance to either draw a circle or an oval on our easel.
In the afternoon, we also got to try out our new snack mats! We had to find a number and use tongs to count out the correct number of crackers onto our snack mats! The morning session will get to try their snack mats tomorrow!
Of course, we also had time to play both inside and outside!
Remember to wear red, white, and blue tomorrow! Have a great evening!
