Today we continued learning about Dr. Seuss. The children remembered that he is an author and illustrator. They like to laugh at his silly rhymes! We had Mrs. Gordon from the district office come into the morning session to read Green Eggs and Ham. Thank you, Mrs. Gordon! We enjoyed your visit to our classroom!
In the afternoon session, Mrs. DeKeyser was our guest reader!
We will have more guest readers this week.
Then it was time to visit centers - rhyming bingo, making green eggs and ham, or making dinosaur Dd's.
Then it was playtime! Several children enjoyed painting Cat in the Hats and Thing 1/Thing 2 at the easels today. There were pictorial directions for how to create those characters. The children did a great job of painting recognizable characters!
For snack, the morning session ate their string cheese prizes from the FFA coloring contest. After snack, we shared our rhyming mystery bags. There were quite a few tricky rhymes, such as fig and pig, car and star, and girl and squirrel! We are getting to be such good rhymers!
We also heard about Brownie's adventures in the afternoon session.
The children also tried to guess how many fish crackers were in a jar. We are hoping one of the 4K students in our class guesses the right number!
Tomorrow is wacky hair/hat day. Children are also invited to bring $1 to have their picture taken at a photo booth. Photos from the photo booth would be sent home on Monday. This is an optional activity.
Have a great evening!
