School Forest

Today was a beautiful day to take a walk in the woods - and that is just what we did!  We got to hear the birds chirping, watch the butterflies and grasshoppers, and even saw a deer in the morning!

Our walk took us to the pond where we used nets to see what we could catch!  We caught several frogs, a tadpole, snails, insects, and even a newt!  It was so much fun that the children groaned when it was time to walk back to school!

After our walk, we celebrated some birthdays!

Then we read some stories about kindergarten.  We are so excited to be big kindergarten students soon! :)

In the morning, the students also helped me do a little extra cleaning in the classroom.  They are good helpers!  Who says cleaning can't be fun?!

Tomorrow we will learn about one more zoo animal - lions!  The children asked if they could wear their lion shirts from the zoo tomorrow.  I don't have a problem with that, but it is not mandatory to wear either if your child does not want to!

Have a great evening! :)
