Today was our last "normal" day at school as tomorrow will be our beach party day! It was a little sad, but we had a great time! We learned all about lions today. See if your child knows how to tell the difference between a male and female lion. Can your child tell you what a female lion is called (a lioness)?
For our project today, we cut out lions. Then we painted a patterned mane on the lion. Some children chose to do an AB pattern while others chose to do more complicated patterns.
Then we played one last time in the classroom. Some children in the morning session asked to help clean instead of play - how could I refuse some ready and willing helpers?! :)
We celebrated some more birthdays today!
After snack, we read some different versions of the lion hunt, which was a little similar to the bear hunt we learned back in January!
We also took time to look at our alphabet books that we worked on throughout the year as we learned a new letter. The children are very excited to bring them home!
In the afternoon session, we did Super Stars.
The afternoon session also got to help clean the classroom since they did not get a chance to yesterday.
To end the day, we had to revisit our friend Pete the Cat once more!
Remember to bring beach towels and wear sunscreen tomorrow. The afternoon session students should also bring a bag lunch.
Have a great evening! :)
